In our weekly blog, we try to tell you how very special the U.S. Virgin Islands are, but in the back of your mind, you are probably thinking that we are just saying that to get your business. While it is true that we would love to earn your trust, we aren’t stretching the truth about the beauty found on St. John, St Thomas, and St. Croix.
Several years ago, travel writer Mark Rogers wrote this piece for USA Today. The article is specifically about the National Park located on St. John.
Here are the main points of this article:
The U.S. Virgin Islands has committed to preserving the natural beauty of the island. That’s why out of the almost 9,500 acres of St. John, 5,000 acres are dedicated to the National Park.
The National Park extends into the ocean as well. In fact, more of the Virgin Islands National Park is located under the water. Around 5,650 acres of the ocean are considered part of the preserved area.
The Virgin Island National Park includes a unique trail -- a snorkeling trail. The trail is marked with information regarding the sea life you will encounter, including sea turtles, parrotfish, moray eels, sergeant majors, and trunkfish.
Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay are great places to visit while on the island.
There are many ways you can experience the beauty of our islands, but there’s nothing better than renting a boat on St. Thomas. We will show you the areas that travel writers love to visit, as well as a few special places we have discovered as well.
